Women: Be Active, Healthy and Fit

Save the date. Wednesday, Sept. 28 is National Women's Health and Fitness Day. Events include fitness walks, exercise demonstrations, health fairs and health information workshops. The goal of this grassroots event is to encourage women to learn the facts they need to make smart health choices, and to make time for regular physical activity; in other words: to take control of their health. This day is part of a larger celebration: National Women’s Health & Fitness Week.

Participating organizations include hospitals, health clubs, park and recreation departments, health departments, houses of worship, senior centers and other locations. An estimated 100,000 women of all ages will participate.

So mark your calendar for this year and every year. The event is always held on the last Wednesday in September. Read more about National Women's Health and Fitness Day online.
