Take Back Your Time
Some people are stressed out because they have so many work, family and social obligations. That's not good. Stress can damage your health. Dr. Andrew Weil, a world-renowned leader and pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, says that the consequences of stress include heart disease, stroke, weight and body fat changes, insomnia and irritable bowel syndrome.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, take a deep breath and relax. It's "Take Back Your Time Day." The organization behind the effort says we need to change the "epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that now threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities and our environment."
What would you do if you had more time? How about getting away for a weekend? Depending on your budget and family interests, you could go camping, or stay at a motel, bed & breakfast, or resort. Closer to home, you could hike in the woods, fish, ride your bicycle or pick apples in an orchard.
You don't have to spend money. Instead, spend time on yourself or with loved ones.
