Kosher Certification

Konsyl Original, Konsyl-D and Konsyl Orange are certified Kosher and Pareve by the OK Kosher Certification. What this means is that the products are independently certified by a Rabbi to contain only Kosher ingredients and to be produced in a manner consistent with the Kosher dietary laws. They are also Pareve, meaning that they contain no dairy or meat ingredients whatsoever and would therefore be suitable for consumption before, after or with any types of food by those that adhere to a Kosher diet.

Konsyl products are not certified Kosher for Passover because some ingredients in Konsyl-D and Konsyl Orange are not Kosher for Passover. However, Konsyl Original does not contain any ingredients that are not Kosher for Passover. Please consult with your personal Rabbi with regard to it's use on Passover. For more Kosher information please see the OK Certification website which contains consumer and industrial information on Kosher certification.

Interview with Rabbi Baron
2/15/2007

Rabbi Hillel Baron
Regional Rabbinic Coordinator
Kosher Certification

Rabbi Baron had been putting off visiting his physician for about 2 years, but once he had made his annual physical exam with his doctor and reviewed the results of his blood tests he found the following results: The levels of his cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar were up. Not to the point of needing immediate prescription medication, but to the point where he needed to make a decision to address the problem before it would call for medications.

He was aware that his mother also dealt with diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol and knew it was a possibility that he would also have to deal with them. The Rabbi's exam was just after the Hanukah holiday so his exercise had been very limited and his diet very high in fat and sugar, thus adding to his elevated numbers.

Rabbi Baron decided to start a healthy diet program and exercise to see if this would help to get his levels back to an acceptable range. On his second visit to his physician there was a slight difference in the blood tests, but not yet within the desired range.

On a recent visit to Konsyl Pharmaceuticals for a kosher inspection, he was talking with Patrice Hambleton, the Quality Assurance Manager, and she was advising him of the health benefits that could be achieved with added psyllium fiber to his new low fat diet and exercise program. Rabbi Baron started using Konsyl Original daily along with oatmeal to increase his daily fiber intake. He continued to follow a low fat diet and exercise on a regular schedule and during his 3rd visit back to his physician his blood pressure; cholesterol and sugar levels were within the acceptable range. He had also been monitoring his blood pressure at home without the stress of being in an office atmosphere and the results were even better.

Rabbi Baron has noticed a difference in his health and digestive system since adding Konsyl psyllium fiber to his diet, all for the better!
